Soft Robotics

During a six-week internship in the summer of 2024, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Professor Cecilia Laschi in the Mechanical Department at the National University of Singapore, a globally recognized expert in the field of soft robotics.
My focus was on innovating and enhancing the functional applications of octopus-inspired suction cups. This involved a detailed investigation into the principles that govern the operation of these unique suction mechanisms. I analyzed how varying specific variables within their schematics could influence their strength and efficiency, contributing valuable insights to the ongoing research in the lab.
